Late Shri Rampal Sharma(1905-1991) was the pioneer of this group. He started the journey as a news paper agent in 1930 in Haldwani. He was renowned for his simplicity and commitment. By sheer hard work and dedication, keeping the group vision in mind he gained Military contracts all over UP and Uttarakhand. Gradually, along with his sons acquiring spree was on. Acquisition of Petrol Pumps (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.) and LPG transportation contracts with India Oil Corporation all over Kumaon and Garhwal region was done. Now his legacy is carried forward by his grandsons venturing into Education ,Tourism and Real Estate industry.

Laksh institute was established in 2010, head quarted is in Haldwani. The courses are affiliated with Uttarakhand Technical University/Kumaun University/ Uttarakhand Board of Technical Education and approved by All India Council of Technical Education(AICTE)
